Common VR headsets in detail

Quest 2

B2B / B2C: both

General description: The world’s best-selling VR glasses with the best price/performance ratio. The user can install applications quickly and easily via its own store. Among others, also the HEGIAS VR Apps (HEGIAS, Kirchner Museum Davos, Implenia Lokstadt etc.).

Release date: October 13, 2020

Pros:

  • The headset supports hand tracking, which allows users to interact with VR environments using their hands, without the need for controllers
  • The Quest 2 has a large library of applications that can be downloaded
  • The best price-performance ratio of all stand-alone VR headsets

Cons:

  • The Quest 2 requires a Meta account to use, which some users may not prefer due to privacy concerns
  • The original headband is not suitable if the glasses are worn by several different people (e.g. for events, trade fairs, etc.), therefore we strongly recommend to buy the Elite Strap additionally to replace the original strap.
  • Very small sweet spot to have clear image – especially with the standard strap

This hardware is suitable for you if you are looking for an affordable and easy-to-use VR headset that can be used for both personal and business applications.

The headset also features eye-tracking technology that allows users to control the VR environment through eye movements and make more accurate and realistic eye contact in virtual meetings.

Release date: October 11, 2022

Pros:

  • Its higher resolution display, wider field of view, face-, motion- and eye-tracking technology make it a more advanced and immersive headset than the Quest 2. These features provide alltogether a smoother and more seamless VR experience

Cons:
